ABOUT
Taking inspiration from using the Calm app during my yearning for the outdoors in the covid-19 pandemic, I decided to use the concept of transportation to create a spec-advert for Calm.
I wanted to focus on the soundscapes section of the app as this was a daily tool for escaping the 4 walls of my home. It would take me into a meditative state and transport me to the landscape I had selected to listen to, providing a getaway opportunity for my mind. It was almost seamless as soon as pressing play. On a £0 budget, ‘seamless’ is how I wanted to portray my experience of transportation in video form.
Using a timed gimbal movement, we semi-circled our talent and cut on the transition of the sound between soundscapes and it’s relevant locations. As we land front on to our talent, we cut to a silent soundscape, and pull away revealing a ‘dream like’ landscape decorated with various cushions filling the frame, our talent with headphones on, resting comfortably.
